Accessibility Statement
The Research Inclusion Project is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards within the confines of what Squarespace provides us with. Squarespace is the platform we use to build and maintain our website. Squarespace has also made accessibility a priority. Read more about Squarespace’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Our commitments
All pages have a title and a description.
Headings are tagged correctly with their corresponding HTML tags.
Our color color palette has been checked for sufficient contrast between text color and and background color. It passes WCAG 2.1 level AA standards.
The typeface we use for body text (not headings), called Atkinson Hyperlegible, was developed by the American Braille Institute to improve legibility and readibility for low vision readers. Learn more about the typeface.
Images have been provided with descriptions through alt tags
Known limitations
Links don’t have titles because Squarespace doesn’t have a feature to label them.
